Clementines and Tea Roses
8 x 10  Oil on Canvas
$300USD

Be Mine
20 x16  Oil on Canvas
$1100USD

My Valentine roses lasted a long time, maybe because I added two aspirin to the water when I received them.  So I had to paint them!  The heart gift box is there to make you guess what might have been in it.  What would you like to receive in such a sweet box?

Puppy Love

Really
10 x 8 Oil on Canvas
$300USD

If you have a dog, you know that look.  We talk to them like they can understand every word.  Then they turn their sweet heads to one side like they are saying "really".

Lion with Flowers
10 x8 Oil on Canvas
$300USD

I have a variety of terra cotta and concrete lion statues, so I thought why not do a little painting of one with flowers. Enjoy!

This little winter scene is captured from across the road from our home. The winter larks are abundant in the fields feeding on seeds left from grasses, weeds, and flowers, so this little guy is checking out the field to see if it will accommodate his group.

Golden Passage
20 x 24 Oil on Canvas

This looks like so many of our mountain roads in fall. You feel like you're bathed in pure light when you go through these passages of sunlit golden trees.

Roses and Plums
8 x 10 Oil on Canvas
$300USD
It was fun to use a heavy pallate knife application to develope the roses. Plums are not often used in paintings, so offering something a little different in this pairing of objects.

Sheep Meadow
10 x 12
Oil on Canvas
$400USD
Have you ever noticed how curious animals are? The sheep in the background are looking at the sheep in the foreground as if they are wondering what they're doing. They are afraid they're going to miss something so they are starting to come toward them. Will they only find more grass or some other green delicacy. Meanwhile the sheep in the foreground are looking toward us wondering what we are doing and what kind of creatures we are that stand on hind legs. Or maybe they think we have something more interesting to eat.

Choosing a subject

People frequently ask me why I've painted a particular subject or how I've come up with an idea.  I'm always looking for a new idea. Inspiration is everywhere. The trick is to come up with a different way of presenting the subject matter.  I ask myself how I can make it more interesting. What is the purpose of painting the subject in a particular manner. I love it when people give me their stories, the images that float through my head as they relate their experiences are the beginnings of new paintings. I am creating life as I want to live it!
